I am interested in describing Ichneumonid wasps using morphological and molecular techniques. Ichneumonid wasps are important as parasitoids of other insects as well as spiders. My current focus is on Cryptinae, the largest and structurally diverse subfamily of Ichneumonidae with worldwide distribution. I am giving particular attention to some tribes of Cryptinae from the Afrotropical (Ethiopian) region. The subfamily Cryptinae contains some of the smallest species many of which have been left undescribed in detail especially from the the Afrotropical region.

Because of their small size and huge structural diversity, only a few studies have been done on this very important group.
