Youth Art Showcase Concludes

Iziko South African National Gallery Annexe

The Western Cape Education Department’s Art and Music Centre’s take centre stage in the finale of the exhibition showcase at the Iziko South African National Gallery Annexe. The show comprises of more than 200 art works by learners from nine different art and music schools.

Selected pieces of art, ranging in mediums from sculpture, photography, design, drawing and illustrations, highlight the talent of our youth. This exhibition provides a space for learners to place their work in a public domain, and can act as a stepping stone for emerging artists.

The collaboration between Iziko’s Education department and the Western Cape Education department is an example of the role museums play in support of education and learning initiatives.

The Western Cape Education Department Art and Music Centre’s exhibition is on show at the Iziko South African National Gallery Annexe, St Johns Road, Monday to Friday from 8am until 4pm.
