Special offers and concessions

Iziko strives to find a balance between offering access to the widest possible audience to our museums and being able to sustain the Museum financially by means of charging entrance fees. We offer a diversified pricing strategy that allows free access at certain times to ensure that those who can least afford entrance fees are still able to visit our museums.

As such, we offer *free entry to our museums on a number of commemorative days throughout the year. These include:

  • Human Rights Day: 21 March
  • Freedom Day: 27 April
  • International Museum Day: 18 May
  • Africa Day: 25 May
  • Youth Day: 16 June
  • National Women’s Day: 9 August
  • Heritage Week: 23–29 September 2013
  • National Aids Awareness Day: 1 December
  • Emancipation Day: 1 December
  • Day of Reconciliation: 16 December

*Castle of Good Hope and Planetarium, free only on International Museum Day and Heritage Day
