Fashion Meets Art at ISANG

The much-debated question “is fashion art?” came to mind when the Iziko South African National Gallery (ISANG) was chosen as one of the iconic venues for the Cape Town Fashion Week this year.

The ISANG’s exhibition halls proved the perfect runway for Adriaan Kuiters menswear designer wear, headed by Keith Henning, who showcased the design house’s spring and summer range for 2013 at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Cape Town 2013.

The daytime event was staged during public access hours and was carefully managed to proceed without infringing on the contemplative and reflective experience that the National Gallery provides to visitors.

Iziko’s distinctive venues have proven to be part of the winning formula for a variety of events, including cocktail functions, corporate seminars, weddings, gala functions, product exhibitions, and picnics.

We were very delighted to receive feedback from our client, Deon Redman, the Production Director for SA Mobile who produced the show. He had this to say: “I just wanted to say another sincere thanks for allowing us to use the National Gallery for the Adriaan Kuiters show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Cape Town 2013.

The media feedback has been little short of phenomenal, praising not only Keith's amazing collection, but also the beautiful space that allowed it look like a show that could have been staged in any major fashion capital in the world.

It is support like that offered by Iziko that allows our emerging designers to stand out and take their brands to the next level.

Thank you for your understanding, patience and assistance on making it all a reality.”
