Through the ages – a journey with a museum taxidermist
Join George Esau, Iziko Museums’ taxidermist, on a journey through the ages, examining the role and contribution of taxidermy in museums of natural history. He discusses the diminishing presence of museum taxidermists at South African museums and their contributions to study collections and exhibitions.
He also discusses his and former colleagues contributions to present day Iziko Museum of South Africa. George Esau started work in 1969 at the South African Museum as a trainee Taxidermist and qualified in 1979.
